This is one of the first emojis introduced in Unicode 1.1 in July, 1995 which was after several years added to very first version of Emoji 1.0 in August, 2015. Type A-2 update by au by KDDI was the first to bring in Check Mark emoji on May 1, 1999. After a long gap Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung released ✔️ emoji on March 8, 2012, July 9, 2012, October 26, 2012, April 27, 2013 respectively.
